What Our Endodontic Patients Are Saying

Very highly recommended! Dr Burroughs and his staff are amazing. For root canals, I think it is best to go to an endodontist instead of a dentist who doesn’t specialize in that area.

My experience with Dr. Burroughs was incredible. He was professional, and kept me informed throughout my dental procedure. The root canal experience was pretty easy and not painful at all. Great service and I highly recommended.

I must admit  I was very nervous about my appointment. However, I got so comfortable during my root canal procedure to the point I fell asleep!  That’s how relaxed I was ! I am very happy I was referred to Dr. Burroughs!  His staff was also very nice!   ðŸ˜Š

I’ve had multiple root canal procedures, and my experience at Burroughs Endodontics ranks right at the top. I got an appointment in a few days after the referral from my general dentist.  There is no hesitation in recommending this practice should you need their services.

What's the Difference Between an Root Canal Specialist and a Dentist?

An endodontist, or root canal specialist, has two or three years of specialty training for treatments of the dental pulp over and above the four years of dental school training a general dentist receives. Endodontists are root canal specialists because they go beyond the studies of a general dentist to acquire additional education and board certification for expertise in how to treat the painful diseases found within the dental pulp of your teeth in order to save your natural teeth. If you have tooth pain or a tooth injury that effects the pulp or roots, general dentists often refer you to an endodontist for advanced treatment and pain management during a process called root canal therapy that can restore health to your natural teeth rather than replace them.

Can a General Dentist Do a Root Canal?

Yes. Many general dentists choose continuing education courses that enable them to safely perform root canals. Typically, general dentists average about 2 root canals per week, whereas an endodontist can perform upwards of 25 root canals per week. Root Canal Specialists are often sought out by general dentists for complex cases, or by patients who have suffered the symptoms of a failed root canal.
